Ponder over these songs: For GOD so love the world, I find it written In verse 16, John's Gospel chapter 3, He gave HIS son who was for sinners smitten When nailed upon the Cross at Calvary. Such wondrous love it passes human knowledge For Jesus died that we might ever live Eternal life! So none never ever perish, This life to all believing souls He now will give. When I survey the wondrous cross On which the King of Glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, And pour contempt on all my pride. Forbid it, LORD, that I should boast, Save in the death of Christ my GOD, All the vain things that charmed me most, I sacrifice them to HIS blood. See from HIS head, HIS hands, HIS feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down, Did e'er such love and sorrow meet Or thorns compose so rich a crown? Were the whole realm of nature mine, That were such an offering far too small; Love so amazing, so divine, Demands my heart, my life, my all! And when I think that GOD HIS Son not sparing, Sent HIM to die I scarce can take it in; That on the cross my burdens gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sins. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation To take me home, what joy shall fill my heart; Then I shall bow in humble adoration. And there proclaim, "My GOD, how great Thou art,"
