"His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter" (Isaiah 56: 10-11).
A dog without a voice is like a day without sunshine. When such a normal characteristic is missing the picture becomes very abnormal. Dogs bark, the sun shines. Dumb dogs are a perversion of nature and likewise, a closed mouth preacher is a spiritual perversion. “How shall they HEAR without a preacher?” Silence in the pulpit about the doctrines of God that concern eternal salvation or damnation is criminal negligence. To HOLD the truth in unrighteousness is the guilt of the “dumb dogs that cannot bark.”
Can it be that earthly considerations under the guise of spiritual advantages is the reason for this diabolical dumbness? Paul stated in his epistle, "All seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's" (Phil. 2: 21).
Isaiah 9:16 tells us, "For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed." Who does God say is responsible? "The leaders!" What fearful havoc results from unfaithful leadership! The Word says God's people are "destroyed!" just before God declared that His watchmen had become "dumb dogs," and because of that sad fact, the beasts of the field and of the forest were called to "come to devour" (Isa. 56:9)! Why? Because the unfaithful watchmen had left the door open for them to come in to ravage the flock of Jesus Christ!
The spiritual vitality of the children of God has been, and is being, "devoured" and "destroyed" by this compromise with the enemies of the Word of God. The lost are being comforted in believing soul-damning falsehoods or are met with complete silence as to the way of salvation. God Commands His Watchmen to "Cry Aloud!" and Not Be "Dumb." "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins" (Isa. 58: 1)?
Isa:56:10: “His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.”
Biblical ignorance and worldliness are common amongst so many churches today. They don’t read their Bibles and blindly follow Apostate teachers. These silent mongrels today are either asleep, spiritually blind, or cowards. They are failing to “cry aloud” to their congregations. They are taking them through the worldly wide gate, and like to make them feel good about themselves rather than preach the truth regardless of the cost. They are as "dumb dogs." What good is a watch dog that will not bark? What good is a watchman who can not see! In this Laodicean Age of Apostasy, and deceit, we need preachers that are not afraid to lift up their voices against error, to prepare the church as a bride for the soon to come bridegroom - Our Lord Jesus Christ.
A silent watchman is more dangerous than no watchman because people feel a sense of security if they think a watchman is on duty. God called pastors of Judah "blind watchmen" and said "they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark" (Isa. 56:10). God demands that His watchmen should not stand idly by in sinful silence. To not speak is dishonoring to God and unloving to both the propagators and the hearers of the error. If the watchman does not blow the trumpet and warn the people, he is held accountable for any person that is taken away in his iniquity. (Ezek 33:2-9)
"...if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand." (Ezek 33:8)
The Bible says, "desire the sincere milk of the word" (I Peter 2:2). "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but into us which are saved it is the power of God." (I Corinthians 1:18).

Zec 8:9 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
