Where have all the young ministers gone, was asked in an earlier post... what should have been asked is... How and when is the ministry called?
Jesus Christ was 30yrs old before He started His ministry. Could it be our culture and society place to much emphasis on youth? Could it be that some are overly concerned with managing the ministry; using worldly business models and personnel management systems? Who is to furnish the Church with the ministry? Man or God?
Who provides the gift of the ministry to the Church? Is man to manage the ministry or do we trust in the Holy Spirit to anoint and confirm those needed in the ministry... where and when needed? Those who look in the natural, live in the flesh; trust in God and the Holy Spirit of God concerning the things of God. It is God who ordains the ministry. He is able to provide for the ministry needs of the Church... as He directs, in His timing.
The organized Church... organizes everything; according to the precepts of their mind, and the business practices of the world. They have a program for everything and everything is just that... a program; void of the Spirit of God. Trust in God, who is able to supply all your needs in His riches in glory by Jesus Christ. God is more than able... Programs fail where God is not put first.
Take no though for tomorrow for the evil of the day is sufficient unto itself... Lean not unto your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge God and He will exalt thee in due season... It is God's timing that the Church should be concerned with; not some perceived need in the natural. Church... trust in God and His ability to provide the ministry gifts when and where needed.
Today, too many in the Church rely upon the management tools of men... They manage the ministry, using models obtained from the business world. If you want a church filled with the world; manage it as the world. If you want to program your congregation using the tools of the world... don't be surprised when it looks just like the world.
Trust in God to supply His ministerial gifts to the Church... Stop looking to seminaries, and Bible Colleges alone. These are often mans institutions, managed by the philosophies of man... whited, sepulchers filled with the dead. Instead, trust in the Holy Spirit to guide the elders and Bishops; lay hands on those who God separates out, and calls to the ministry.
Then, if additional training is needed; send only those called and ordained of God to seminary and Bible Colleges. Stop looking to the authority of man and the ordination for ministers, by degree... The Pharisees challenged Christ; saying, by what authority do you speak? What they were asking was... where are your ordination papers? From what seminary did you graduate? Where is your diploma and license to preach?
Many in the ministry today are not called of God... Instead, they are the result of man's ordination and seminary system. Young men try the ministry. Many enter the ministry because they THINK they are called. Only to find out after years of training they are not called... Some never realize they were not called but minister any way.
Let, the elders and the Bishops, the overseers of the Church pray over the congregation and let the HOLY SPIRIT SEPARATE OUT THOSE CALLED TO THE MINISTRY. Trust in God to call out the ministry first and last.
Stop looking in the natural to manage and program the ministry; using business models and personnel management systems patterned after the world... Unless you want a worldly church?
